Boost Your Confidence INSTANTLY With This ONE Move

Lots of women frequently tell me that I seem super confident. While it may look like this on the surface, I want you to know that I definitely have had periods in my life where I felt waaaaay less-than-confident. Times where I completely doubted myself. Times where I wondered if I was walking down the right path. And times where I wondered if what I'm doing in this world is making any sort of impact.

Big transitions, kind of like the one I just went through of moving back to Canada, have always felt uncomfortable, chaotic, and downright scary. Because you can't really be certain of what the outcome is going to look like. And for someone who LOOOOOVES control & planning, this is a hard space to just sit in.

The discomfort of the unknowing. The lack of certainty.

But that's the thing about change, right? It pushes you to the edge of your comfort zone, and requires that you take a leap of faith, even when you're not entirely sure of yourself. Even when you're not 100% ready.

Lately I've struggled with ALL these feelings & I noticed I was seriously lacking confidence in myself. Despite previous successes and despite encouragement from those closest to me.

I needed an immediate boost, something that could instantly make me feel better, feel more confident, AND more powerful. So I turned to the wisdom of one of my biggest mentors, Tony Robbins, a legend whose helped thousands of people from across the globe transform their lives through his coaching, live events, philanthropy and his magnetic & inspiring talks.

Tony firmly believes that emotion is created by motion. That is, how our body moves and the postures we find ourselves in can fuel how we feel - our STATE - and this is turn fuels our actions & behaviors.

So if you want to change how you feel (your state) you need to radically change your body posture through movement.

CHANGE YOUR BODY -->  CHANGE YOUR STATE

So, I got my butt up and decided to get into a better, more confident posture. Research from Dr. Amy Cuddy from Harvard and many others suggests that adopting a POWER POSE can help you feel more positive, in control, optimistic about the future, more goal-oriented, and more likely to take action.

Yes, yes, and Hell Yes!!  I want to feel THAT state more!

So here's what you do:

Stand with your feet hip or shoulder width apart, the place your hands/fists on the narrowest part of your waist. It's an expansive, open posture that takes up a lot of space. And it definitely sends a different message to your brain than being hunched-over and contracted.

It's so simple, and it makes me feel like I'm channeling my inner Wonder Woman. And while I don't have to worry about defeating the God of War or saving mankind, it does make me feel like "I got this!" and I can handle the challenges that life has been throwing at me lately.

So now I want YOU to take some action! I want you to get up - yes get up right now! - and do this. Even if it's for 3O seconds, I want you to experience how much better you're going to feel just from this ONE simple move.

And once you've had a chance to power pose it out, take ONE more action step and let me know in the comments below:

How did Power Posing shift your mentality or actions today?

Remember that there's power in sharing your story. Your story helps to give strength, confidence, and inspiration to others in similar situations. I know it does for ME, so I'd love to hear what you've been going through. Go ahead and share, & know that I'm always here to listen!
